Chinese electronics giant, Xiaomi, is holding its "Grand Finale" event tomorrow, November 24, where the company is expected to launch a bunch of devices. The one device that’s making the rounds on the rumour mills suggests that the Redmi Note 2 Pro – which is not expected to be launched as the Redmi Note 3. The reason for changing the name from Redmi Note 2 Pro to the Redmi Note 3 is that the name “Redmi Note 2 Pro” was too long, or too confusing. Pray, what about the Wickedleak Wammy Titan 5? Or the iPhone 6s, which is not the 6th iteration of the iPhone, or the Galaxy S6 – the 6th iteration of the device with versions like the Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, and so on. Also, look at the number of Zenfone 2s in Asus’ Zenfone family. As far as naming confusions go, buyers are already quite confused.

Coming to the Redmi Note 3, the device is expected to have a metal body and a rear fingerprint sensor. The phone is also expected to be 0.5mm thinner than the Redmi Note 2, which is 8.3mm thick. Other specifications of the device are expected to be the same as the Redmi Note 2, which means that the device will have a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and will be powered by the octa-core MediaTek MT6795 chipset. The device will have 2GB/3GB of RAM inside, and will come with 16GB of built-in storage. The rear has a 13MP camera and the front has a 5MP camera. A 3060mAh battery powers the package.

Moving to speculations regarding other devices expected to launch, we have the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2, whose specifications and leaked images have been circulating the Internet for some time. The Mi Pad 2 may have an Intel X5-Z8500 SoC, clocked at 2.24GHz, running inside, along with Android v5.1 operating system.

Xiaomi is expected to expand its position in the wearables market, with the launch of a smartwatch. There is no information available about the specs or design of the device. Xiaomi recently unveiled the Mi Band 1S, which comes with a 45mAh battery that Xiaomi claims to be enough to last for 30 days, on a single change. The Band 1S will allow users to track heart rate, count the number of calories burnt during exercise, and measure the number of steps taken. It can also unlock a Xiaomi smartphone, and vibrates to alert when a notification is received.

Lastly, speculations suggest that Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone, the Mi 5, will make an appearance at the event. Earlier rumours suggested that the Mi 5 would be launched on December 3. It is expected to come with a 5.5-inch QHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and have 16MP rear and 8MP front cameras. The device is also expected to come with a fingerprint scanner and would be available with 16GB/64GB of inbuilt storage. Rumours also suggest that the phone will be powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or a MediaTek Helio X20 processor.

It is unlikely that Xiaomi would announce all these devices at one go, but we will reserve our judgment till the event kicks off. For those of you who do not know, Xiaomi has a larger portfolio of gadgets and isn’t limited to smartphones and tablets.
