Leaks suggest Xiaomi might be working on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808-powered Mi 4c, apparently certified by TENAA

Images have been leaked of a new Xiaomi phone, and it is not the rumoured Mi 5. Going by the images, it seems that Xiaomi has a new phone in the works, named the Mi 4c. The phone has apparently been certified by TENAA (China's equivalent of the American FCC), and was also recently spotted on the AnTuTu synthetic benchmark test. The phone is suggested to be running on the hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808.

Besides the Snapdragon 808, the Alleged Mi 4c features an Adreno 418 GPU. The hexa-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 808 has previously been seen on the LG G4, which is LG's current flagship device. According to the leaked images, the Mi 4c features a 5-inch 1080p display like the Mi 4i. For memory and storage, the phone is supposed to have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. However, it might not support external memory card expansions. There is a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, and a 5MP camera at the front.

On the connectivity front, all the usual interfaces are expected to be supported — LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi Direct. It is expected to be running Android 5.1.1 with the recently-released MiUI 7. Techgadgetsz, which originally reported the leak, also stated that the alleged Mi 4c weighs around 130 grams, and has very similar dimensions to the Mi 4i. If these leaks are true, this might be the most powerful phone from Xiaomi till date, at least in India.

Talking about the most powerful phone from Xiaomi, Xiaomi hasn’t released it's Mi Note in India, and the Mi 5 is still in the works. While the two Note phones may not come to India, the Mi 5 is generally expected here, but the device itself is being delayed by a while now. Once announced, it will be Xiaomi's flagship for 2015. One reason for the delay might be that Xiaomi is waiting for the Snapdragon 820 SoC. Additionally, recent speculations hinted towards MediaTek's deca-core Helio X20 powering the Mi 5, in which case, its India release might be in the debacle.
