Xiaomi claims to have sold 5 million units of Redmi Note 4 in India since its launch in January. The smartphone was announced exclusively on Flipkart at a starting price of Rs 9,999 on January 19 and it sold over 2.5 lakh units during the first sale alone.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the successor to the company's best-selling Redmi Note 3 and it's India Managing Director Manu Jain had said that his company plans to sell 7 million units. Xiaomi had confirmed in March that the company has sold over 1 million units of Redmi Note 4 and Flipkart recently confirmed to have sold 2 million units. The handset has become one of the best-selling smartphone beating the 4 million sales mark set by Redmi 3S series.

Xiaomi is currently the second largest smartphone brand in India and it is inching closer to dethroning Samsung as the leader. According to Canalys, Xiaomi shipped 4.8 million units during the second quarter and its CEO Lei Jun confirmed that its India revenues were up 328 percent during the first six months of 2017.
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. The handset sports an aluminium unibody design and comes in three different storage options: 2GB and 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM variant with 64GB storage. It features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
The Redmi Note 4 features a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The handset is reportedly getting MIUI 8.5 based on Android 7.0 Nougat in select markets. In our review, we noted that "Redmi Note 4 is an improvement over its predecessor, but it's not enough of an improvement to seek an upgrade from last year's Note 3." The Redmi Note 4 is backed by a 4100mAh battery and is available in grey, gold and black colour options. The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 2GB RAM variant while the 4GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 12,999.
