Xiaomi announces its new 4G phone, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G

Xiaomi brings to the plate another mid-range smartphone, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G. This phone comes under the Note 12 series. The announcement happened in Indonesia and then moved on to unveil in Europe and very soon will reach across the nation.

So what are the specifications, pricing and availability of the phone at this point? Let me provide you with all these details so that you can make a decision as to whether it’s worth spending your bucks or not. 

Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G: Pricing

As I already mentioned, it has not yet reached the Indian market. So according to its prices in Europe during the reveal, it can be estimated to be around ₹32,000. So, you can expect Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G to be priced around this when it comes to India. 

Specifications or features of Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G

Let's first move to the crucial part of the device- the chipset. Unfortunately, the device has quite an older version- the Snapdragon 732G SoC. Coming to the display, it has a 6.67″ FHD+ AMOLED screen display and a 5000 mAh battery with a charger of 67W that essentially provides fast charging. 

Now, let's talk about its camera. The Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G comes with four lenses in its rear camera. The primary lens is a 108MP with f/1.9 aperture, and next is the ultra-wide lens with 8MP with f/2.2 aperture. Third is the macro lens of 2Mp with f/2.4 aperture and the last one is a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4 LED flash. About the front camera, it is of 16Mp with an aperture of f/2.4. 

The dimensions of the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G are 164.20×76.1×8.12mm and it weighs around 202g. This device has its fingerprint sensor mounted at the side. Talking about the storage, this brings in 3 variations to the phone, one with 6GB RAM+128GB storage, the second variant has 8GB RAM+128GB storage and the third variant has 8GB + 256GB LPDDR4X RAM + UFS2. The smartphone also has the scope of expandable memory of up to 1TB with the help of microSD. 

Now coming to some extra information about the device. The phone runs on Android 11 with MIUI 13 and has four colour variants- Blue, Gray, Polar White and Ice Blue. It also comes with dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support and a 2.5mm audio jack. Some good news about the device is that it is dust and splash resistant. But one point where Xiaomi might face challenges is that this is a 4G phone and not one with 5G support. Presently, all phones are coming up with 5G support, hence in a way, this might turn out to be a setback for the phone.
