Xiaomi has finally announced the launch date of the upcoming Xiaomi 15 series in China. It will launch in China on October 29 at 7 PM local time and 4:30 PM IST. What’s even more interesting is that China will see three flagship smartphone launches consecutively from October 29 to October 31—first, the Xiaomi 15 then the iQOO 13, and the OnePlus 13.
Coming back to Xiaomi 15 now, apart from featuring the first Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Xiaomi 15 smartphones will also be the company’s first smartphones to run on HyperOS 2.0, which will be based on Android 15.
As far as the India launch is concerned, Xiaomi hasn’t revealed anything about that. In China, the Xiaomi 15 lineup will feature the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. If reports are to be believed, the Xiaomi 15 can be priced at CNY 4,599 (approx. Rs 54,400) in China, while the Xiaomi 15 Pro will begin at CNY 5,299 (approx. Rs 62,700). However, due to customs duty and taxes, these prices will most likely go up to Rs 70,000 for the Xiaomi 15.
Now, let’s talk about the specifications that we have gathered from rumours, leaks, and some official announcements as well.
Xiaomi 15 expected specifications
As I mentioned above, the Xiaomi 15 is confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which can be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. This vanilla Xiaomi 15 is expected to include a 5,500mAh battery, while the Pro model might pack a larger 6,000mAh battery. Both smartphones are likely to support 90-watt fast charging and 50-watt wireless fast charging, with the Pro model possibly supporting up to 80-watt wireless charging.
Moreover, the Xiaomi 15 series smartphones can sport LTPO OLED displays with up to 120Hz refresh rates, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. The Xiaomi 15 is expected to come with a flat display, while the Pro model might have a Quad Micro Curved screen. The series will also come equipped with three 50-megapixel cameras for the main, ultrawide, and telephoto with up to 3.2x optical zoom. However, the Xiaomi 15 Pro might offer up to 5x optical zoom.
