Xiaomi successfully launched the Xiaomi 15 series last month in China. The Chinese smartphone maker launched two new Xiaomi 15 smartphones, the vanilla model and the Pro model. In the latest development, the Xiaomi 15 has been spotted on the Geekbench AI website with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for its global testing. This smartphone is expected to launch in India somewhere around January, just like last year.
However, since the Xiaomi 15 is already out in the Chinese market, we have its full specifications. Apart from that, we can make a guess on its Indian pricing based on its Chinese pricing. In this article, I am going to give you a good brief of the Xiaomi 15 based on some confirmed specifications as well as expected details. Let’s start with the price.
Last year, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 in China at a starting price of CNY 3999, which converted to Rs 69,999 when it came to India. However, this time, the Chinese brand increased the prices and launched the Xiaomi 15 for Rs CNY 4,499. From this pricing, we can expect that the Xiaomi 15 will most likely hit the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 79,999.
The Xiaomi 15 comes with a 6.36-inch LTPO OLED display with a 2670 x 1200 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and also includes 12GB or 16GB RAM options and internal storage of up to 1TB.
It is equipped with a triple rear camera setup developed with Leica. This camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with up to 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. For selfies, there is a 32-megapixel front camera.
Lastly, the Xiaomi 15 boasts a 5,400mAh battery that supports 90-watt wired fast charging and 50-watt wireless charging. It runs on Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, and also includes IP68 rating against dust and water.
