Forget Xiaomi 13, next flagship may be dubbed Xiaomi 14 series: Here’s why
Xiaomi’s next flagship may be called Xiaomi 14 series
"Xiaomi 14" box was spotted on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo
Expected to sport Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm
Xiaomi's upcoming flagships are said to take the next leap in smartphone technology for the popular phone brand. However, while many expected the next Xiaomi flagships to be named "Xiaomi 13" series, it is unlikely that the company will name the next series of flagships the Xiaomi 13 series.
According to a leaked photo of the next Xiaomi flagships' retail box, it seems that the next flagships could be named the Xiaomi 14 series and Xiaomi will skip the number 13 in its flagship name. The leaked image of the "Xiaomi 14" box was spotted on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, along with the Leica branding next to the Xiaomi 14 moniker.
Many of you must be thinking why Xiaomi will skip the number 13. Now we have seen brands skipping the number 13 or 3, since it is considered inauspicious in the Chinese mainland. It can't be said for sure if Xiaomi's reason to skip the number 13 is the same, but most reports hint that this is why the Chinese manufacturer may name the next flaghips the Xiaomi 14 series.
Now, we don't know much about the next Xiaomi flagships as of now, but the company's founder Lei Jun had said earlier this month that the company's next range of smartphones will come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm. The phones will also come with cameras tuned by Leica, which has partnered with Xiaomi for its imaging tech.
The rumoured Xiaomi 14 series is said to include three models – the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The top-spec smartphone in this range is expected to come with a 1-inch camera sensor, which is the same size as the Xiaomi 12S Ultra's shooter, developed in partnership with Leica.
