Xiaomi 12 series with Snapdragon 8 will officially launch on December 28

Xiaomi 12 series will be the first to include Snapdragon 8 chipset.

One of the 12 series phones will reportedly include 100W fast charging.

These phones will run Android 12-based MIUI 13 software.

Xiaomi will launch its 12 series flagships in Beijing, China next week on December 28. The series is likely to include three separate variants and at least one of these is confirmed to be the first to include Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC as was possible with months of prior collaboration with Qualcomm.  

The 12 series phones are also confirmed to debut with MIUI 13 based on Android 12. The teasers shared on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo shows two phones, allegedly the 12 Pro and 12, with a centrally aligned punch-hole notch and edge-to-edge displays.

Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro Features and Specifications

According to leaks and rumours surfaced so far, the Xiaomi 12 Pro and 12 could include three 50MP cameras on the rear including a primary sensor, wide-angle shooter, and a telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom. 

The phones are expected to include LTPO OLED screens with support for variable refresh rates and symmetrically aligned stereo speakers. Xiaomi 12 will allegedly support 100 watts of fast charging speeds. 

Some of the new MIUI 13 features have improved power management, new Always-on display widgets, better notification management, and also an option to add a watermark to scanned documents. More concrete information related to Xiaomi 12 phones will be revealed next week at the official launch.

Apart from Xiaomi, OnePlus also confirmed that it will be bringing in the next OnePlus 10 series a tad early in January. These phones are also confirmed to include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 SoC and will initially debut in China.
