Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary update to roll out from August 9?
HIGHLIGHTS

Microsoft Lumia’s official Indian Twitter account reportedly revealed the date in a tweet, which has since been removed

Microsoft started rolling out the Windows 10 Anniversary Update yesterday for PCs and tablets, but not for phones. However, the company may start rolling out the update soon. According to a report by Neowin, Microsoft Lumia’s official Indian Twitter account revealed the date as August 9. In a reply to another Twitter user, the company reportedly said, “For mobile, it will be available on August 9, 2016.” However, the tweet has since been removed.

Such a prompt update would be quite nice for Windows Phone users, especially considering that they had to wait for a long time for the Windows 10 update to finally hit their Windows Phone 8.1 powered devices. Microsoft was initially hoping to launch the update last year, but were faced with delays. The update finally started rolling out to select Windows Phone 8.1 devices in March this year.

A few days ago, the option to update Windows 7 and Window 8 powered PCs and tablets to Windows 10 for free ended. Now, users will have to pay if they want to get the new OS from Microsoft. However, if you have missed the opportunity to update your device, there is still a way you can get the update for free.
