Will the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active house a 4000mAh battery?
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is expected to be a tough, waterproof and dust-proof smartphone aided by the powerful Snapdragon 820 SoC.
Samsung’s rugged version of the Galaxy S7 is yet to be announced officially, but specifications of the same have been leaked online ahead of launch. The phone was earlier spotted on GFXbench, and was even listed on an Indian import listing website. Like last year's iteration with the Galaxy S6 Active, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be a toughened variant of the Galaxy S7, without the curved edges. Previous leaks suggest that the phone will sport a toughened back and superior protection certifications.
Earlier today, Venturebeat claimed to have acquired all the specifications of the phone. According to them, the design of the phone hasn't changed much, and the device has the same, 5.1-inch 2K resolution display as the Galaxy S7. The internal specifications are expected to remain the same as well, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The device is expected to be 9.9mm in thickness, and weigh 185 grams.
Camera modules on the Galaxy S7 Active are expected to be 12MP as primary, and 5MP on the front. The battery, however, is expected to be upgraded to 4000mAh. The device is likely to run on Android Marshmallow out of the box, with Samsung's TouchWiz UI as customisation.
The phone may be launched next month, and Samsung has not shared any plans yet, of launching this device in India.
