Apple has rolled out the all-new iPhone 15 series and we are getting some radically polarised opinions, especially for the base variant. While some love the design and new internal improvements, some are saying that it simply isn’t worth the upgrade. Apple has rolled out four models in its iPhone 15 series; the standard model, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the brand has also discontinued the iPhone 14 Pro models.
As Apple launched the iPhone 15 series, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus saw a significant price drop of ₹10,000. Naturally, this is a great time to get the iPhone 14 or the 14 Plus variant, as Apple is selling it for ₹69,900. Moreover, you can expect substantial discounts once the festival season kicks in just around the corner.
So if you are planning to experiment with the iPhone for the first time, the iPhone 14 could be the one to consider. With the unbeatable festive sale offers, the iPhone 14 would be a great choice without compromising too much on the experience.

On the other hand, Apple launched the iPhone 15 which will retail for ₹79,900. But we do think that the iPhone 15 does offer a lot of value for the extra you’d be shelling out. Why? Let me tell you.
The iPhone 15 shares many features with the iPhone 14 Pro, which is still available on some e-commerce sites as long as stocks last.
To start with, Apple brings in some distinct design changes every two years, and you do get a new design refresh in the current cycle. The iPhone 14 Pro introduced the Dynamic Island feature last year, limited to the Pro and Pro Max models. Now, this eye-catching feature is available in the iPhone 15, including the standard models. In the Indian market, the iPhone 15 could be a hit. People in India enjoy flaunting their smartphones, and the Dynamic Island is a clear indicator of the latest iPhone.
Now it's not just about flaunting your iPhone. The iPhone 15 also comes with some really cool upgrades. Apple has featured the 48-megapixel camera in the iPhone 15, which was previously available in the iPhone 14 Pro models only. Apple has also improved the iPhone 15’s display. Last year, the iPhone 14 featured a display with 1200nits on peak brightness, but this year the display is brighter. The display of the iPhone 15 offers up to 2000 nits of peak brightness.

The USB Type-C is also there now. This means you don’t have to look for the lightning cable anymore if you forget your charger at home. The previous generations of iPhones didn’t have a USB Type-C port, so it’s another reason why you should go for the iPhone 15.
Currently, the iPhone 14 Pro is available on Flipkart at a starting price of ₹1,19,900, whereas the iPhone 15 was unveiled for ₹79,900. In comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro has three major features among all that the iPhone 15 doesn’t have. Those features are a Telephoto sensor, ProRes and ProRaw modes, and a 120Hz display.
But would you pay ₹40,000 more for these features? Or would you buy an iPhone 15 instead? Or will you ditch both of them and go for the iPhone 14? Let us know in the comments.
