Founder of OnePlus and Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer of OPPO, Pete Lau, wanted to combine the strengths of OnePlus and OPPO, which are now under the same umbrella, to make this special foldable phone. OnePlus is known for its fast and smooth performance, sleek design, and great hardware, while OPPO is skilled in foldable design and camera technology. So, they joined forces to create the best foldable phone.

What’s unique about this phone is its hinge, the part that allows it to fold. OnePlus has put a lot of effort into perfecting it. The company even developed 35 patents just for this hinge. Compared to other foldable phones, this hinge is smaller, lighter, and stronger, allowing for a more compact and functional device.
The new foldable smartphone will also feature the alert slider– which the company describes as a defining feature that OnePlus fans love.
OnePlus believes its foldable phone will be a game-changer because it addresses what users want. People want a larger screen but also a phone that’s easy to carry. This phone is designed to be slim and lightweight, with a great camera and a smooth user experience.

This new OnePlus foldable smartphone is expected to be called as “OnePlus Open.” It will likely be equipped with a 6.3-inch cover AMOLED display, backed with the FHD+ resolution. Also, the display might support up to 120Hz refresh rate. It might feature a 50-megapixel primary camera along with a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
