We are just a few days away from Apple announcing the new iPhone 16 lineup. The anticipation is at an all-time high at this point and everyone is waiting for September 9. You might know that Apple will drop the iPhone 16 lineup on September 9, but there are a couple of things that you might not know yet, let me share that.
After Apple announces its latest series of smartphones, the products will not be available immediately. Although Apple will share its official timeline to release the product in the market on the day of the event, let me share a tentative timeline based on Apple’s past trends.
So it is likely that after the September 9 launch, Apple will start pre-orders from Friday, September 13. Post that, in the following week, iOS 18 will most likely be available for downloads. And then on September 20, the new iPhones can be made available in stores.
Well, don’t take these timelines strictly. These are pretty speculative. Apple usually opens pre-orders the Friday after its event, with devices available in stores the following week. So this year we can expect the iPhone 16 models on shelves by September 20 too.
Along with the iPhone 16 series, Apple can also announce iOS 18. Nearly all iPhones released in the past six years are eligible for this update. Apple typically releases its new software shortly after its iPhone event, and iOS 18 is expected to be available for download starting the week of September 16.
In addition to this, we might also see new Apple Watch and AirPods models during the event. These can come on the market by October.
