Vuclip to provide buffer-free video content on UC Browser.

Vuclip has tied up with UCWeb to deliver content for the video section of the mobile browser-UC Video. Vuclip says the tie up will help UC Browser India users to access mobile video content on any network: 2G, 3G , 4G or Wi-Fi without buffering.

The tie up gives users access to Vuclip’s wide range of content (from more than 140 content providers) across genres like movies, music, news, sports, celebrity and devotional among others.

“Vuclip’s mission is to democratize access to mobile video and our strategic partnership with UCWeb suits that perfectly because they are the first choice of consumers in India when it comes to mobile browsing. With this partnership, we will be able to expand our large viewer base further, reaching a sizeable number of new consumers who are keen to have easy and friction-free access to mobile videos. We will continue to partner with key stakeholders of the mobile ecosystem to fuel mobile video adoption throughout India and beyond,” says Nikhil Naik, Director, Global Content and Distribution.

Commenting on this partnership, Kenny Ye, Managing Director from UCWeb India says, “Vuclip provides a mobile video experience that is in alignment with our mission to provide the best possible mobile Internet experience to billions of users around the world. Mobile handsets are personal devices and consumers want to access content tailored to their interest. Through our partnership with Vuclip, consumers will have access to premium global and local content of their choice on any mobile device, without the hassles of buffering brought on by constrained networks.”

Earlier, Vuclip had tied up with Bharti Airtel to offer Re 1-entertainment store. Range of content on the store includes music, games, photos and videos.

According to a survey conducted by Vuclip, Indian users have started to consume longer video content on their smartphones. The survey revealed about 62% of Indian respondents preferred to view films and TV serials on their mobile phones rather short clips. 89% of all respondents say they would watch their favourite movie on their mobiles if it was made available.

Airtel’s Mobitude 2013 survey showed it had seen a whopping 400% growth in Mobile TV viewership on its network.
