Vivo has launched its mid-range device, the Vivo Z5x at an event in China. The USP of the phone is the punch-hole display that was first introduced as Infinity-O display by Samsung last year. The phone is priced at CNY 1,398, which translates into approximately Rs 14,000. The phone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, and a 16MP camera sensor in the cavity of the display. On the back is a triple camera setup and a fingerprint sensor.
The Vivo Z5x will be available in China on June 1 in three colours: Extreme Night Black, Phantom Black, and Aurora – the last of which has a gradient finish on the back. The Vivo Z5x features a Full HD+ 6.53-inch LCD panel with 1080×2340 resolution, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.77 percent. As mentioned, the edge-to-edge display has a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Under the hood, the phone has Qualcomm's Snapdragon 710 chipset, with four variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.
On the rear, there is a triple camera setup with 16MP main sensor and a lens having an aperture of f/1.78. There is an 8MP ultra-wide angle snapper with f/2.2, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. On the front is a 16MP selfie shooter. The phone runs Funtouch 9 OS baked on Android 9 Pie. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back panel made up of a glossy finish polycarbonate. The phone draws power from a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The phone sports a headphone jack as well.
