Vivo Xplay 5 Elite with 6GB RAM launched in China

Vivo has launched the first smartphone with 6GB of RAM. Called the Vivo XPlay 5 Elite, the phone comes with a 5.43-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and comes with 128GB of non-expandable storage. At the back is a 16MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-tone flash, while at the front is an 8MP camera. The phone comes with a 3600mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner located at the back. The Xplay 5 Elite runs Android Lollipop v5.1 with Funtouch launcher layered over it.

Vivo also launched a more affordable variant of phone called the Xplay 5. The specifications this variant are pretty much the same as the Elite version except for the RAM and Processor. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. Both devices were launched in Beijing and will be available in China from March 8. The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite is priced at CNY 4,288 (approx. Rs. 44,200), while the standard Xplay 5 is priced at CNY 3,698 (approx Rs. 38,100).
