The Vivo X90 series including the Vivo X90 and the Vivo X90 Pro is expected to launch in India in March. The 5 key Vivo X90 Pro features include MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC, Zeiss cameras, 120W charging, eye-grabbing design, etc. Let’s break them down one by one.
Vivo X90 series has a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 engine inside. It is a 4nm chip with 1 Arm Cortex X3 core running at 3.05 GHz, 3x Arm Cortex-A715 clocked at 2.85 GHz frequency, and finally, 4x Arm Cortex A510 clocked at 1.8 GHz speed. It is the first WiFi 7-ready mobile processor, although the Vivo phones only bring WiFi 6. The devices also pack in ray-tracing enabled Arm Immortalis – G715 GPU. Both devices also supports both mmWave and sub-6 GHz band 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, L1+L5 GPS, NFC, Infrared, and USB-C port.
While both cameras sport 50MP primary cameras, the setup and ingredients in use are different on both phones:
Vivo X90 Pro comes with 50.3MP (1.6µm, Dual Pixel PDAF)+ 50MP (0.7µm, 2x optical zoom, OIS)+ 12MP ultrawide clicker.
Vivo X90 consist of 50MP (1.0µm, PDAF)+ 12MP (f/2.0, telephoto, 1.22µm, 2x optical zoom, OIS)+ 12MP ultrawide snapper.
Both have the same 32MP selfie shooters.
However it is the Zeiss filters and optics that make this one of a kind smartphone photography experience. For instance, turning on Zeiss mode in the camera app, the results could apper more natural-looking.
Vivo X90 Pro has a 4870mAh battery and the standard X90 carries a slightly smaller 4810mAh cell. The charging speed, however, is the same 120 watts on both phones. It claims to fill half the tank in 8 minutes. You also get 50W wireless charging on the Pro model.
That circular island on the back is an eye gaze puller. Beneath, there is a silver band with an “Xtreme Imagination” print. The Pro models offer a premium leather finish as well. You could pick the Vivo X90 series phones in multiple colours, but Red is the highlight this year.
On the front, you have a curved 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ playback support. The peak brightness on the X90 Pro can go up to 1300 nits. There is a central punch hole housing the phone’s front camera.
You get the latest Android 13 software with FunTouch OS skin on top, UFS 4.0 storage, an under-display fingerprint reader among other features.
