Vivo’s first folding phone is called Vivo X Fold and it has been set to go official on April 11 at 7:30 pm China time (5 pm IST) in China. In an online event, the company will unveil its first folding smartphone which it claims will introduce the “foldable screen 2.0 era”. In the teasers shared on Weibo, the Vivo folding phone looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G or Oppo Find N’s book design. However, we only get an off-angle glimpse of the device which is not enough to draw a good picture of it.
Vivo X Fold: What to expect
In the teaser video, you can see the phone in its folded state initially. By the back, it has got a large rectangular island with a big camera ring. Inside, there appear to be 4 cameras, including a periscope zoom lens. The camera panel has got Zeiss branding and we could expect the camera features similar to the Vivo X70 Pro series.
Vivo X Fold Rear Cameras
The device seems to have a blue faux-leather finish. Then, the device unfolds to a tablet-like form. That’s all the teaser reveals.
However, going with the rumours, we learn the Vivo X Fold could have an 8-inch main inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and an Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG). Under the hood, it could be carrying Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, up to 12+512GB memory support, 4600mAh battery with 80W fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and Android 12 software.
