Vivo has launched two foldable phones. There’s the Vivo X Fold 2, a book-type foldable that folds from a tablet form to a chunky candybar shaped phone. Along with it, we saw the launch of Vivo X Flip, a clamshell-style folding phone that folds a phone vertically into a compact square. Now that their core design differences are clear, here is a spec-by-spec comparison.
This is just a comparison of both of their key specifications.
1. Display
Vivo X Fold 2 gets a 8.03-inch LTPO4 main display with 1916 x 2160 pixel resolution and Dolby Vision support. The main display on the Vivo X Flip is LTPO only, stretches 6.74-inches diagonally, supports HDR10+ only and sports 1080 x 2520 pixel resolution.
The cover display of the Vivo X Fold 2 is a proper phone-like (6.53-inches). So, you are getting a 120Hz AMOLED with HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1080 x 2520 pixels resolution. Meanwhile the X Flip’s cover screen is 3-inches and 422 x 682 pixel resolution.
2. Camera
There are 5 cameras on the Vivo X Fold 2 whereas the X Flip brings 3 cameras.
The X Fold 2 has got a 50MP primary, 12MP telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide on the back. Inside, there is a 16MP camera, and on the cover also, there is a 16MP snapper.
The Vivo X Flip has a 50MP main camera coupled with a 12MP ultrawide shooter. The camera up top the screen is a 32MP sensor.
Also, you get to shoot up to 8K30 on the X Fold 2 whilst the X Flip lets you record up to 4K30 fps.
3. Internals
Vivo X Fold 2 is the more powerful device as it is armed with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip while the X Flip has half-a-gen old Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
Vivo has equipped the X Fold 2 with faster UFS 4.1 storage while the X Flip gets UFS 3.1 storage only.
The battery size of X Fold 2 is 4800mAh with 120W fast charging while the X Fold packs a 4400mAh battery with 44W charger. The X Fold 2 rocks 50W wireless charging support also which the X Flip misses.
You also get a newer WiFi 7 support with the X Fold 2 while the X Flip gets only WiFi 6.
