Vivo V5 Plus with dual front camera setup is launching in India on January 23
Vivo has announced two new smartphones – V5 Plus and V5 Lite in its V5 series today. Vivo V5 Plus was recently spotted on a Malaysian retailer's website and now the company has made it official. Vivo is expected to launch the V5 Plus in India on January 23.
Vivo V5 Plus offers significant improvements over V5 but the selling point is the dual front facing camera. The smartphone sports a combination of 20MP + 8MP front cameras to create natural bokeh effect. The rear houses a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and support for 4K video recording. Vivo V5 Plus features a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 625 processor aided by 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The smartphone comes with 3160mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Vivo V5 Lite, as the name implies is the lowest end in the V5 series. It features a 5.5-inch 720p display and is powered by an unnamed 64-bit octa-core processor. The smartphone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. On the camera front, Vivo V5 Lite sports a 13MP rear shooter and a 16MP front camera with softlight flash. The smartphone supports 4G LTE but lacks fingerprint sensor.
Vivo V5 Plus and V5 Lite run the Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Vivo has not announced the pricing for these devices yet and we hope to know more at the company's event on January 23.
