Vivo V5 Plus with dual-selfie cameras to launch in India on January 23
HIGHLIGHTS

Vivo V5 Plus is expected to feature a combination of 20MP + 8MP front-facing camera, upgrading on the single 20MP front camera of the Vivo V5.

Vivo is set to announce another selfie-centric smartphone in India on January 23. The company announced its latest smartphone, the V5 in India on November 15, and the company had then announced plans to bring the dual-front camera based V5 Plus, soon. The Chinese smartphone maker has now started sending out media invites for an event on January 23, where it will announce the Vivo V5 Plus.

The Vivo V5 and V5 Plus are seen as successors to company's V3 and V3 Max smartphones announced in April 2016. While V5's USP was the 20MP selfie camera with Moonlight LED in front, the V5 Plus will sport a dual-front camera setup with 20MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor for capturing depth. Back in September 2015, Lenovo had announced the Vibe S1 with dual-front cameras, where the primary sensor captured the subject and secondary sensor captured extra details like depth and contrast.

While Vivo has not shared any further specifications of the V5 Plus, it already sells a smartphone in China with dual-front camera setup dubbed as X9 Plus. The Vivo X9 Plus features a 5.88-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 653 SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage.

The Vivo V5 Plus is also expected to feature a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, and an LED flash. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a huge 4000mah battery. The Vivo V5 was introduced at Rs 17,980, and we expect V5 Plus to be priced in India under Rs 25,000.
