Vivo has announced the launch date of its upcoming V40 series. It is expected to include two smartphones as usual; the Vivo V40 and the Vivo V40 Pro. The Vivo V series smartphones have always focused on photography and the same is expected with the Vivo V40 series. In the teaser, we saw that these smartphones will feature Zeiss optics just like last year. Apart from that, we also saw that the Vivo V40 series is launching in India on August 7.

Vivo hasn’t revealed the specifications of these devices yet but rumours and leaks have already suggested some. Let’s take a look at them.

Let’s start with the display, the Vivo V40 series might pack a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,260 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate with 4,500 nits of peak brightness. They can be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor paired with an Adreno 720 GPU.

For photography, one thing is confirmed we have Zeiss optics onboard. Apart from that, rumours on the internet suggest a triple camera setup on the Vivo V40 Pro. This could hold three 50-megapixel sensors.

If we take a look at the European version of the Vivo V40, it has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. We might get the same on the Indian version too. Even the Pro variant can have the same IP rating.

The Vivo V40 series can come with a 5,500mAh battery. But we might get 80-watt fast charging support on the Pro variant.

Lastly, the Vivo V40 might launch in India at around Rs 33,000. On the other hand, the Pro model could be at least Rs 10,000 pricier than the standard one, which is Rs 43,000.
