A few months after the launch of the Vivo V30 series, Vivo has now launched the Vivo V40 series in the Indian market. This includes two smartphones: the Vivo V40 Pro and the vanilla Vivo V40. The smartphones feature the flagship Mediatek processor and Zeiss optics. They will set the competition tight within the sub-35k market. Let me tell you more about these phones.
The Vivo V40 Pro comes in two colour options; Ganges Blue and Titanium Grey, whereas the Vivo V40 is offered in Lotus Purple, Ganges Blue, and Titanium Grey.
Coming to their display, both smartphones feature the same display. They have a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display that supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and has 4500 nits of peak brightness.
The Vivo V40 series has been marketed as camera camera-heavy smartphones. The Vivo V40 comes with a dual camera setup featuring Zeiss optics. It includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main camera with OIS and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 112-degree field of view. On the other hand, the Vivo V40 Pro has a triple camera setup, which has the same two sensors available in the V40 along with an additional 50-megapixel telephoto shooter with up to 2x optical zoom. The telephoto lens achieves up to 50X digital zoom using Zeiss Hyper Zoom technology. For selfies, both devices are equipped with a 50-megapixel selfie shooter.
Further, the Vivo V40 runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Meanwhile, the Vivo V40 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Moreover, both smartphones feature Funtouch OS 14, which is based on Android 14.
Talking about their battery, a 5500mAh battery with 80-watt fast charging support powers both these smartphones.
Vivo has launched the V40 at a starting price of Rs 34,999. Whereas, the V40 Pro has been rolled out for Rs 49,999. If you are interested in buying any of these smartphones, the first sale is going live on August 13 on Flipkart.
