Vivo to launch Z-Series phone in India, leaked images show rear triple camera setup
Vivo to launch Z-Series phone in India soon.
Reports claim it could be the Vivo Z5x that was launched in China in May.
Vivo recently teased a Z-series phone launch in India, and on the heels of the teaser, an industry source has shared images of the phone with Digit. Citing its design, several media reports have suggested the phone could be the Vivo Z5x that was launched in China last month, however, our source tells us the phone is not what’s being reported. In simpler words, this phone is not the Vivo Z5x, but a separate Z-Series phone for the India market.
In the image, you can see that the phone sports a rear triple camera setup aligned vertically on the top left corner of the phone. Below the three sensors is an LED flash. In the centre of the panel, there is a fingerprint sensor. Moreover, the blue-coloured back panel features a u-shaped gradient design on a glossy finish. As of now, we do not know much about the resolution of the camera sensors, the fingerprint sensor technology and the hardware of the phone.
As mentioned, Vivo launched its mid-range device, the Vivo Z5x at an event in China recently. The USP of the phone is the punch-hole display that was first introduced as the Infinity-O display by Samsung last year. The Vivo Z5x is available in three colours: Extreme Night Black, Phantom Black, and Aurora – the last of which has a gradient finish. The phone is available in China at a starting price of CNY 1,398 (approx Rs 14,000) for the 4GB + 64GB storage model. The 6GB+64GB variant is priced at CNY 1498 yuan (approx Rs 15,000), the 6GB+128GB variant costs CNY 1698 (approx Rs 17,000), and the top-end 8GB+128GB variant has a price tag of CNY 1,998 (approx Rs 20,000).
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Vivo Z5x features a Full HD+ 6.53-inch LCD panel with 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution. The display offers an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.77 percent. Under the hood, the phone is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 710 chipset, with an option to choose from four variants. In the camera department, the triple camera setup features a 16MP main sensor and a lens having an aperture of f/1.78. There is an 8MP ultra-wide angle snapper with f/2.2, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a 16MP selfie shooter. The phone runs Android 9 Pie-based Funtouch 9 OS. A 5,000 mAh battery keeps the lights on.
