Videocon has added its smartphone to the budget quad-core smartphone market with the launch of the Videocon A55HD. The device boasts of a 5-inch display, runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is priced at Rs. 13,499.
The A55HD shows off a 5-inch OGS capacitive touchscreen display with a 1280×720 pixel resolution. A 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GBRAM and 4GB built-in storage powers it. The rear of the smartphone has an 8MP camera featuring Panorama Shot and up to 40 continuous shots in the burst mode. It also houses a 3.2MP front camera for video chatting. A 2000mAh battery powers the A55HD.
In terms of connectivity options, the smartphone has HSPA with up to 42Mbps, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n along with GPS/A-GPS. The A55HD also shows off a bunch of features such as ‘Flip To Silent’ and ‘Face Detection’. Bundled with the smartphone you get a protective pouch.

From the above table it is clear that the specifications of the Videocon A55HD are homogenous when compared to the competition. Sure, the front facing camera has a higher resolution but we will comment on its quality once we have the smartphone in for review.
