US brand InFocus enters Indian market, launches M2 budget smartphone

The smartphone has been designed in the US and produced by manufacturer Foxconn. The first InFocus phone is priced at Rs. 4,999.

US based InFocus has announced entry into the Indian market. The company has launched a new dual-SIM smartphone called the M2. Priced at Rs. 4999, the InFocus M2 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM.

The InFocus M2 has a 4.2-inch WXGA display. It has 8MP rear and front facing cameras featuring smile, face and voice detection. It has 8GB internal storage, supports additional storage up to 64GB. The smartphone is powered by a 2010 mAh battery. The phone is exclusively available on Snapdeal.com.

Other important features of the phone include Gesture Controls, TV-Direct Mode, USB & Bluetooth connectivity along with 3G & Wi-Fi functionality.

InFocus seems to be targeting the entry-level smartphone market. The company will be facing a strong competition from the local brands such as Micromax, Karbonn and Lava. The likes of Motorola, Lenovo, Asus and Xiaomi have also been targeting the budget smartphone segment.
