Upcoming Google Play Store update will bring redesigned simpler interface
Leaked screenshots of the updated Play Store show an emphasis on larger images and a much cleaner interface.
Screenshots of an upcoming update for the Google Play Store have been leaked showing that the online store will receive a design refresh with bigger images and an overall simplified interface. The images spotted by Droid Life show a design that’s more in line with the Google Now app that’s available on Android devices.
The update marked Google Play Store 4.0 contains more design elements from Android’s holo-theme with similar fonts and colour schemes. The sections within pages seem to divided into clean white boxes and the store is also now using much larger images in this avatar. It’s also been pointed out that after this new version rolls out, app updates will be set to automatic by default, instead of requiring users to manually update their apps.
Google recently announced that it would be unifying many of its services within the Play Store including the ability for users to buy books and music, apart from merely apps and games. The Play Store, originally known as the Android Market also celebrated its first anniversary earlier this month by offering discounts on many popular apps for Android devices.
The 4.0 update for Google Play Store is not yet live but the leaked screenshots prove that it can be expected to be rolled out very soon.
