Vertu, the premium luxury phone maker, has launched three new handsets to be added to its Signature Collection in India. Prices for the new premium handsets start at Rs. 14,00,000. The three variants are Signature Ultimate Black, Signature Red Gold Black DLC and Signature White Mother of Pearl. All three new Signature phones run on Symbian Series 40 operating system, and feature a 2” QVGA 320×240 display underneath a solid sapphire crystal screen, 4GB of internal memory, and an 11mm x 15mm loudspeaker with dual sound ports.
Vertu says that the Signature Ultimate Black is the “purest black handset” that it has ever produced. Even the interface, it says, will appear entirely black. Lettering on the keypad will appear only when the phone is in use. The Signature Red Gold Black DLC has identical fine diamond-like coating on the Signature Black, but has a polished, 18 karat red gold trim lines and select key. It will also come with a premium hand-selected black leather case. The Signature White Mother of Pearl houses natural mother of pearl inlays underneath the sapphire face and a “princess-cut” diamond select key. It is available in two finishes: the white ceramic pillow and the pearl-finish white alligator skin.
Massimiliano Pogliani, Vertu's CEO, has stated, “The appeal of this collection lies in three characteristics; unique and elegant design and engineering, the highest level of Dedicated Concierge and fuss free, high quality calls. Signature is for those that relish conversation.” Vertu customers will have dedicated concierge services, with a ‘Lifestyle Manager’ available on demand. This service has one-touch access enabled on Vertu Signature handsets. Users will also have access to Vertu LIFE, that provides a curated assortment of elite events. These handsets will be available only through Vertu stores and luxury retailers.
Previously, Vertu launched the Vertu Ti, an Android smartphone in the super luxury segment. It later came up with a Ferrari Limited Edition phone too.
