Samsung may have inadvertently, or possibly even intentionally, given us the first look at this year's Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. The company is running two new advertisements overseas, marketing its Super AMOLED display panels. Interestingly, the phone in these ads is a never before seen Samsung device.
The phone in question also has very thin bezels and evidently high screen to body ratio. Moreover, the screen seems big enough to be a 4K panel, although this still may not make 4K a big thing in smartphones.
If this is indeed the Galaxy S8 then it also confirms that there will be no home button or fingerprint sensor on the device. There have been similar rumours suggesting that the sensor be beneath the display only.
Further, there have been some rumours about the Galaxy S8 being available in a bigger size, and this certainly is bigger. However, there is no Edge screen on this device, which means the Galaxy S8 Edge may turn out to be something else altogether.
Of course, this is all speculation right now. Samsung may have simply used a test device in the advertisements. After all, given its issues with the Galaxy Note 7 last year, such a leak may cause the company more harm than good.
