The Redmi Note 12 series, which launched in China last year and recently made its way to the Indian market, may feature OLED displays in its upcoming Note series handsets. According to a Weibo post by tipster Smart Pikachu, the next generation Note series from Redmi could also have integrated fingerprint sensors under the OLED display. This would mark a significant shift for Redmi, as the company has traditionally used side-mounted fingerprint scanners.
In another post on Weibo, the tipster also said that the Redmi Note series that is currently in development may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7-series SoC.
According to a report by Gizmochina, the tipster's reference to a new Redmi Note series with OLED displays could actually be referring to a rumoured addition to the existing Redmi Note 12 series, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo edition. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo is said to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate and be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 SoC.
The Redmi Note 12 Turbo edition is rumoured to have a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, 8MP secondary sensor, and 2MP tertiary sensor. It is also expected to have a 5,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
Redmi has not confirmed anything about the leak.
