HIGHLIGHTS

Blackberry has launched a variant of its recently launched Blackberry Classic without a camera. The phone will be sold in US only via Verizon.

Blackberry has announced the Blackberry Classic without a camera with US carrier Verizon. The company seems to be focused on productivity, communication and functionality instead of some of the other features we take for granted in a modern smartphone.

The phone has almost the same specs as its twin brother except for the camera. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5Ghz dual core Qualcomm processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards and a 2500 mAh battery. The smartphone runs on Blackberry’s 10.3.1 OS.

Blackberry has adopted a new strategy that's more in line with its traditional offerings and focused on business and enterprise users. Recently, the company also launched ithe Blackberry Passport phone which was again more geared towards productivity.

The Blackberry Classic without the camera is priced at $99.99 (Rs. 6,150 approx.) with a new two year contract or $399.99 (Rs. 24,500 approx.) without a contract. Pre-orders for the phone have started and shipping will start on March 31st.
