Gionee W900 with two 1080p displays spotted online

Gionee W900 spotted on TENNA! It features dual 1080p displays, quad-core processor and runs Android KitKat OS.

Gionee is working on a new smartphone that will have two displays. Dubbed as the Gionee W900, the flip smartphone has  two full HD 4-inch displays. The phone was recently spotted on Chinese cellphone regulator TENNA. The W900 smartphone has a clamshell design and runs on Android KitKat OS out of the box.

The Gionee W900 looks similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Golden dual-screen flip Android smartphone. It has two 4.0-inch Full HD AMOLED displays with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 550 ppi. It has a 1.5 GHz quad core processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It has 16 GB of internal storage expandable via MicroSD card slot. It has a 13 MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front camera. Connectivity options included are high speed WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE.

It run on Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat OS out of the box and its not clear whether the smartphone is upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Gionee W900 is expected to be launched in China, but there are no reports whether the smartphone will be launched in any other markets.

Gionee's W900 is not the first smartphone with dual-screen. Recently, Jumbo Electronics tied up with Flipkart to launch the dual-screen smartphone – YotaPhone – in India. The Yota C9660 features a 4.3-inch HD 720p front display and a 4.3-inch E-Ink back display with 640 × 360 pixels resolution.
