Tecno has launched the Phantom V Flip in India. The Chinese brand is known for its budget-friendly smartphones. It also rolled out a foldable smartphone earlier, namely the Tecno Phantom V Fold, the cheapest foldable smartphone available in India. Moreover, the brand has released a flip smartphone too and we are excited to see how it will perform against the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 in this comparison battle.
The Tecno Phantom V Flip comes with a unique design, featuring a huge circular camera module on the back surrounding a circular cover display, ‘The Planet’. The smartphone features a lychee-pattern leather back and comes in two colour options; Mystic Dawn and Iconic Black. The Tecno Phantom V Flip also comes with one more unique offering and that is its case.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 features a folder-shaped cover display. It has two camera rings and an LED flashlight on the top left corner of the back. Samsung offers seven colour options with this smartphone which are Mint, Graphite, Lavender, Cream, Gray, Blue, and Green.
The cover display of the Tecno Phantom V Flip aka The Planet is a 1.32-inch AMOLED round display. Speaking of the main display, it features a 6.9-inch FHD+ Foldable AMOLED display that supports up to 120Hz refresh rate.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is equipped with a 3.4-inch AMOLED display. It has a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. It also supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+.
The Tecno Phantom V Flip is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset, which is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It runs on HiOS 13.5 skin based on Android 13 operating system. A 4000mAh battery powers the Phantom V Flip and also supports 45-watt fast charging.
However, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 boasts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor paired with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. This foldable smartphone also runs on Android 13-based OneUI 5.1.1 skin. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 packs a 3700mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging support.
The Tecno Phantom V Flip has a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 64-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens. It also features a Quad Flashlight setup. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. There is a 10-megapixel selfie shooter at the front.
Now the real twist comes here. As I mentioned before the Tecno Phantom V Flip is the most affordable foldable smartphone in the country. It will be available for purchase on Amazon from October 1 for ₹49,999 as an early bird price
