Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition gets Android 4.2.2 update
The Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition joins the league of other Google Play editions devices like the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the LG G to get the latest Android update
The latest Android 4.4.2 update has been started rolling out for the Google Play edition Sony Xperia Z Ultra. With this update Xperia Z Ultra joins the league of other Google Play editions devices like the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the LG G Pad 8.3 that already got the latest update.
The update fixes quite a few bugs like the inability to uninstall apps on the device or sideload apps via the Unknown Sources option in the security settings menu.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is equipped with that aforementioned 6.4 inch screen with resolution of 1080 x 1920. That works out to a pixel density of 342ppi. A quad-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU is driving the phone, which also includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage (11GB of which can be accessed by the user).
A 64GB micro SD slot is also available if you need more storage. The back and front facing cameras weigh in at 8MP and 2MP respectively and a 3050mAh battery keeps the lights on. With IP58 certification, the phone can withstand a dunking in up to 3 feet of water for no longer than 30 minutes.
Along with the update, Sony has also released the corresponding open source files for KOT49H. These come in at a healthy 534 MB and can be downloaded over on Sony’s Developer World.
