Sony Xperia T gets unexpected Jelly Bean update
It has turned out to be an unexpected Christmas gift for Sony Xperia T and TL (LTE – AT&T) owners, with an early rollout of the Android Jelly Bean OS for their phones!
In what is definitely still a couple of months ahead of the official schedule that Sony had announced, Xperia T owners are getting the Android Jelly Bean update already. This update has been rolled out globally, as well as for the Xperia T phones locked on the AT&T network. It is reported that the phone is now running Android 4.1.2 version.
The Vietnamese Sony community, SonyViet, reported this. According to the details they have posted, the update does bring in improved battery life and a smoother UI experience with Project Butter.
Just to refresh your memory, the Xperia T is the same phone that Daniel Craig used in the latest James Bond flick, Skyfall. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and initially came out of the box with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The phone has a 4.55-inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, and 16GB built-in storage with external storage expandable up to 32GB.
Here are some screenshots, as posted by SonyViet, showing the Xperia T’s latest UI post the Jelly Bean update.
