Sony has launched its Xperia L2 in India priced at Rs 19,990. The smartphone was unveiled during Consumer Electronics Show 2018 alongside the Xperia XA 2 and Xperia XA 2 Ultra. The Xperia L2 sports a metal unibody design but comes with thick bezels on the top and bottom of the display. It will be available for purchase starting today in Black and Gold colour variant.
In terms of specifications, the Xperia L2 features a 5.5-inch 720p display, which the company claims deliver “vivid colour output and detailed images”. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6737T SoC and 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. It is backed by a 3300mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
In terms of camera, the smartphone comes with a single 13MP rear sensor and features an 8MP ultra wide front-facing camera with 120-degree field-of-view. It sports a rear placed fingerprint sensor and supports connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and a USB Type-C for charging.
Sony is expected to also launch the Xperia XA 2 and Xperia XA 2 Ultra smartphones in India sometime soon. Both the devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC Instead of MediaTek chipsets, which their predecessors were equipped with. In terms of hardware, both the smartphones sport Full HD display resolution and run on Android 8.0 Oreo.
The XA2 Ultra comes with a larger 6-inch screen, whereas the XA2 features a 5.2-inch display. They come with a 23MP single rear camera setup with improved low-light photography, 4K video recording, and 120fps slow-motion capture support. However, the XA2 Ultra sports a 16MP + 8MP dual front camera setup with OIS and is backed by a 3580mAh battery, whereas its smaller variant, the XA2, comes with a single 8MP front camera and is backed by a 3300mAh battery.
