Sony has sent out media invitea for an event on September 25, where the company will unveil the Xperia XZ1 smartphone. Sony had unveiled the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact at IFA, Berlin last month.
The Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact are updates to the Xperia XZ and X Compact. The Xperia XZ1 is powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset and features 4GB of RAM. The smartphone sports a 19MP Motion Eye camera on the back, and has a fingerprint sensor embedded into its power button. The Xperia XZ1 is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. The device features 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The phone sports a 5.2-inch FHD HDR display and is powered by a 2700mAh battery.
The Xperia XZ1 Compact, which doesn't seem to be headed to India, sports a 4.6 inch HD screen and features 32GB of internal storage. Rest of the specs are similar to the Xperia XZ1. Both the smartphones run on Android Oreo out-of-the-box and are expected to be priced around Rs 50,000. Sony had recently confirmed a list of its devices that will receive the Oreo update. The Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia X Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra, Xperia XA1 Plus and Xperia Touch are the devices getting updated to Android 8.0 Oreo.
