Sony’s PlayStation Phone leak brings benchmarks & specs along for the ride [video]

Sony’s PlayStation Phone has still not been officially confirmed by major Sony executives, though the industry and photo buckets have been buzzing with news of the Xperia gaming phone for quite a while now.

[RELATED_ARTICLE]While we’ve had leaks the size of video previews before, we can now enjoy some benchmark videos and more details on the specs and UI. The phone apparently achieved a solid 59.1 frames per second on Neocore benchmark, with a Quadrant score of 1,333. The PlayStation phone is supposedly powered by Qualcomm’s QSD8255 1GHz Snapdragon processor and Adreno 205 GPU. All in all, way more powerful than the 333MHz chip-powered PSP Go.

The PlayStation Phone’s latest specs include a 4-inch (854×480 pixel) display, 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM, 5MP camera with LED flash, and a second microphone for active noise cancellation.

Some interface elements were also revealed, with the game sub-system labeled as the PlayStation Pocket. It still remains to be seen what sort of games will run there, seeing the stark hardware differences between previous PlayStation portable offerings.
