Sony rolls out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Xperia M

Sony has officially started rolling out the much-awaited Android 4.3 update for its Xperia M smartphones. With the new update, the build version of the handset changes to 15.4.A.0.23. As expected, the update brings a range of new and improved features on the Xperia M.

According to the Xperia M Android 4.3 changelog, the update brings a smoother UI and graphics enhancements. The camera interface has been updated with Burst Mode and Superior Auto shooting modes. To address the battery drainage problems, the firmware update brings Battery STAMINA Mode. Other notable changes include improved Sony apps including Walkman, Album and Movies, and new security enhancements from Android 4.3.

The update is already being rolled out across Europe and Asia. To find your device’s current software version: Settings > About phone > Build number / version

To update your smartphone wirelessly, you need the latest version of the Update Centre application. Go to the Update Centre > Updates tab and install the available update. Once the Update Centre application is updated, you’ll be able to update your device software wirelessly.

According to reports, only single-SIM variant of the Xperia M has the received, as the official product page of the device reflects the change. The product page for the Xperia M dual still refers to older firmware.
