Sony Ericsson also announced a new QWERTY device, the Txt, along with its Gingerbread-based Xperia Ray and Xperia Active phones. Meant for social-networking and instant messaging fiends, the Sony Ericsson Txt bears a 2.6-inch display without touch, and is based on a proprietary operating system.
Though it is not part of the Xperia range, SE says it has some features inspired by them, and from what we can see in the image below, some of the UI flavour has certainly been carried over.

For now, Sony Ericsson has not revealed too many details about the Txt. It will be available in Q3 of 2011, supports Wi-Fi, and has a 3.2MP camera. An optical trackpad might also be part of the deal.
SE has visibly also added a SMS Shortcut key to the keypad for quick messaging. A native app called ‘friends’ will also be available, which will allow users to track and interact with five contacts on Facebook and Twitter. Based on its specs, the device should hopefully be available in the sub Rs. 10K range when it releases.
