Leaked images have surfaced on the Internet showing the 5-inch 1080p display of Sony’s C6603 Yuga phablet.
The leaked images come from Android Schweiz, a German website which has released seven images of the device including one that gives us a glimpse of the gorgeous 5-inch 1080p display. Last month, we saw some of the specifications of the phablet leaked.
At its core, the Sony C6603 Yuga is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and the Adreno 320 GPU. The display has a resolution of 1794×1080 pixels. It runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. The device also houses a 12MP rear snapper. Overall, the device seems ready to take on the current phablet king, the Samsung Galaxy Note II. You can read our Samsung Galaxy Note 2 review here.
The images also show that the device has a unibody design, which means that the user can’t manually replace the battery. The phablet will also feature a glass back. The decision to make the rear of the device glass is questionable, as we have seen some other smartphones (like the iPhone 4/4S and the Nexus 4) with glass backs that crack with a single drop. No Information is available about the price or launch period of the device but we can expect it to make a grand appearance at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February 2013.
