Sony announces Xperia M5 and C5 Ultra with 13MP front camera
While the Xperia C5 Ultra is a selfie focuses phablet, the Xperia M5 also has a MediaTek Helio X10 processor to go with its 13MP front camera.
Japanese smartphone maker, Sony Mobile, has introduced two new smartphones in the market, the Xperia M5 and the Xperia C5 Ultra. It seems both the phones aimed at selfie lovers, boasting 13MP front-facing camera sensors. The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra was leaked earlier as well, in quite a few occassions.
In terms of specs, let's look at the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra first. The phone has a 6-inch display with 1080p resolution. The display uses Sony’s Bravia Engine 2 and has almost no bezels. The phone weighs 187 grams and is 8.2mm thin. It has a metal aluminum frame with a glossy plastic back panel. The phone is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek MTK6752 SoC with 2GB of RAM. It has support for micro-SD cards for upto 200GBs and will also be available in a dual-SIM variant.
The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra also features two 13MP camera sensors, one each at the front and back of the phone. Both cameras offer a wide angle lens, autofocus and 1080p video recording. The phone carries a 2,930 mAh battery, which Sony claims will give 2 days of battery life and upto 7 hours of HD video playback.
The other phone which was announced is the Xperia M5. This one has a very similar design to the Xperia Z3+. The phone has a 5-inch 1080p display, also featuring the Bravia Engine 2. It is powered by the 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 SoC. This features a 2GHz octa-core processor, which was earlier seen on the HTC One M9 Plus. The phone features 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with microSD card support for upto 200GBs
At the back of the Xperia M5, the phone has a 21.5MP EXMOR RS camera sensor, which features hybrid autofocus. The phone can record 4K video and has a video stabilizer to help in video recording. At the front it features a 13MP camera with autofocus and HDR. The Xperia M5 also comes with IP65 & IP68 certification making it waterproof and dust resistant. Like the Xperia C5, the phone has metal sides but instead of aluminum, the phone features stainless steel sides. It weighs 145 grams and is 7.6mm slim. There is also a dual-SIM variant.
No prices and availability details have been announced yet, but it is expected that both phones would come to India later this year.
