Snapdragon 820 leads AnTuTu’s list of top ten mobile SoCs

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 beat Apple's A9 and Samsung's Exynos 8890 chipsets and lead the list of top mobile SoCs in graphics performance

Benchmarking website AnTuTu has posted a list of the top ten smartphone chipsets based on how they scored on AnTuTU’s CPU and GPU benchmark tests. As per their ranking, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 beat the Apple A9 to the top spot. The Snapdragon 820 scored 136,383, while the A9 scored 132,657. AnTuTu noted that its data was based on average scores, not highest scores, and that the actual running results may fluctuate.

Samsung’s new Exynos 8890 was placed third on the list with a score of 129,865, followed by the Kirin 950 with 92,746. Samsung and Qualcomm’s last generation flagship chipsets, the Exynos 7420, and Snapdragon 810 follow with a score of 86,652 and 81,049 respectively. The rest of the list consists of the Snapdragon 652 (79,636), Apple A8 (79,100), Snapdragon 650 (78,979) and Snapdragon 808 (68,508).

AnTuTu also ranked the chipsets by GPU performance, and here too, the Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530 GPU got the top spot. The PowerVR GT7600 in the Apple A9 managed to get a score of 38,104, while the Mali-T880 MP12 GPU in the Exynos 8890 scored 37545. Have a look at the graphs below for details.
