The Apple iPhone SE could have a similar specification sheet as the current iPhone 6s

As March nears, rumours of Apple announcing a new 4-inch iPhone are picking up pace. Latest rumours surrounding the phone reveal that the alleged smartphone will be called iPhone SE, and will have a 4-inch display. The phone is likely to be a replacement of the iPhone 5s, and is expected to be announced at Apple’s rumored spring event. The alleged smartphone is expected to have similar specifications as the iPhone 6s, with a smaller display.

While the name of the phone was revealed by a dutch website late last week, a new set of leaked images have surfaced via a french leakster. The leaked images show the front of an unfinished iPhone which is being alleged as the upcoming iPhone SE. The leaked images suggest that the phone might not have the required sensors for the 3D touch glass, and hence, no 3D Touch display.

Macrumors reports, KGI securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has been right about Apple's reports before, has suggested that the upcoming iPhone SE will be priced between $400 to $500 (Rs. 27,400 to Rs. 34,300 approximately). He claims that the upcoming iPhone will feature 12MP rear camera instead of the previously rumoured 8MP camera. The phone is likely to include the Apple A9 chipset, NFC for Apple Pay and 2.5D curved glass display. Other specifications might include a 1642mAh battery, Bluetooth v4.2 and WiFi 802.11ac. It is expected to come in 16GB and 64GB variants.

Apart from the rumoured iPhone SE, Apple may announce a 9.7-inch iPad Pro or the iPad Air 3, and minor Apple Watch updates. The Apple spring event is expected to be hosted on March 15.
