Gionee has launched a new selfie-focused phone called the S6s. Priced at Rs. 17,999, the phone will be exclusively available exclusively via Amazon from today, but will be available via offline retailers later. The highlight of the phone is an 8MP front camera with a flash. Other features of the phone include a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass, while at the back is a 13MP primary camera.The phone is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 3GB of RAM. It is also offers a fingerprint scanner, 3150mAh battery, and 32GB of onboard storage that can be expanded by up to 128GB. The phone also runs Android Marshmallow v6.0 with Amigo 3.2 layered over it.
The Gionee S6s follows other recently launched selfie-focused devices such as the Oppo F1s and the Coolpad Mega 2.5D. The F1s is priced at Rs. 17,990 and also offers a 5.5-inch display, but with a resolution of 720p. However, the phone sports a 16MP front facing camera. Other specifications include the MediaTek MT6750 SoC and 3GB of RAM. The Coolpad Mega 2.5D offers an 8MP front camera and a 5.5-inch display (720p), but it is priced at Rs. 6,999. The Mega 2.5D also offers a MediaTek MT6735 SoC with 3GB of RAM.
