After recently reaching the one million mark in Tizen-powered smartphone sales in India, Samsung’s strategy to make more smartphones running on Tizen OS seems to have been confirmed. News has leaked about Samsung making a new smartphone – the Samsung Z3 – which will be the next smartphone to run on Tizen OS.
The budget-segment Samsung Z1 was a major sell-out in the budget segment in India, and was also the best-selling smartphone in Bangladesh. Yesterday, SamMobile reported that they have confirmed news that the Samsung Z3 is on its way. Although reasons for Samsung Z2 not being there is not clear, the Samsung Z3 seems sure to be highlighted in Samsung’s Developer Summit in Bangalore, India, due to be held later this month, on the 30th and 31st of July.
The smartphone has been confirmed to have model number SM-Z300H_SWA_DD. Although neither specifications or pricing have been given out by Samsung, it is rumoured that Samsung Z3 will feature 5” display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5-megapixel primary camera along with 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB storage, a 2000mAh battery and run on Tizen OS 3.0.
Although nothing has been spoken on pricing, it is expected that Samsung Z3 will also fall into the budget segment. The previous Samsung Z1 was priced at Rs. 5,700 on launch.
