With the launch of its latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 & Galaxy S8 Plus, Samsung also revealed its first digital assistant known as Bixby. The AI assistant offers deep integration within multiple apps on the new phones. Similar to Apple’s Siri and Google’s Assistant, Bixby brings voice commands to Samsung devices. You can do things like rotate a photo in the camera app using your voice, recognise objects through Bixby Vision by pointing the camera towards them, and in some cases translate a language or generate a buy link for the same, set alarms, reminders, open apps, search the web and much more.
Some of you might be wondering if you can use Bixby on devices other than the newly launched Galaxy S8, S8 Plus. Turns out you can! A user from XDA developer managed to install the virtual assistant on a Galaxy S7 smartphone. The user was also kind enough to share the process of downloading Bixby on the forum, which was then successfully implemented by a number of other users.
However, there were also some users who could not get Bixby to function properly, or had no use for the same. Many users also pointed out that they only got Bixby cards, similar to Google Now cards, with the download. Users were also not able to use 'Hello Bixby' voice commands with the download.
So, if you just want to get a feel of what Bixby would look like on your phone, you can try downloading the assistant by clicking here and following the steps mentioned in the post.
