Samsung working on Galaxy Alpha to compete with iPhone 6: Reports
The Galaxy Alpha will be placed right between flagship the S5 and Galaxy Note.
Even as rumours about Apple's iPhone 6 continue to flourish, new reports suggest Samsung is already readying an iPhone 6-rival dubbed as the “Samsung Galaxy Alpha”. According to Korean publication ETNews, Samsung plans to launch the device in August — well before Apple announces the iPhone 6.
According to reports, the Alpha will be placed between the latest flagship the S5 and the Galaxy Note. Speculations are the Galaxy Alpha is the same device with another name that has been doing the rounds on the web for months. There have been rumours about Samsung working on a S5 Prime and Galaxy F – both said to come with high-end specifications. Though, it's the first time “Alpha” name has been revealed.
To compete with Apple's iPhone 6, Samsung will be replacing its traditional faux leather back with a metal chassis. Alleged images of the Galaxy F reveal all metal back and metal frame with plastic panels.
There are different information on specifications as several reports suggest a 4.7-inch 1080p or 5.2-5.3 inch QHD. The smartphone is expected to be running the latest Snapdragon 805 chipset.
