Samsung has sent out media invites for an event that will take place tomorrow. The South Korean electronics giant is expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy Mega. The Mega made its round on the rumour mills for quite some time before concrete information about the existence of the smartphone reached us.
The Galaxy Mega has a whopping 5.8-inch display with a 960×540 pixel resolution. The smartphone runs on Android and will have Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. It houses a Dual-core 1.4 GHz CPU, along with 1.5GB of RAM. The smartphone/phablet comes in 8GB built-in storage expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card. It will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. A 2600mAh battery powers the entire package.
We haven’t received any information about the pricing or when the device will be available to consumers, but the smartphone is listed on Saholic as a forthcoming item.
Samsung recently launched its flagship smartphone the Galaxy S4 in India and the device is quite impressive with its hardware specifications and the feature set it brings to the table.
There are a lot of Samsung smartphones that have been doing the rounds on the rumour mill. To start with, we have the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, a much more rugged and well-built smartphone when compared to the Galaxy S4. The S4 Mini and the S4 Mega were also leaked via the Samsung WatchOn app update. It looks like Samsung has quite a few devices lined up for 2013.
