Samsung has launched a print ad in which it compares the iPhone 5 to the Samsung Galaxy S III. The ad breaks down the key specifications of both the smartphones, but since the ad is made by Samsung, it naturally shows the Galaxy S III as the better device of the two.
The comparison is a little silly since the ad doesn’t mention some of the key proprietary features of the iPhone 5 such as the new Maps app, AirPlay, Facebook and Twitter integration, access to thousands of apps and more. All the ad does is point out the Samsung Galaxy S III‘s own proprietary features, such as “S-Beam,” “Smart Say,” “Picture In Picture” and more.
Another nice touch in the ad is how Samsung has mocked the new dock connector by calling it “A totally different plug”. You can take a look at the print advertisement below:
The comparison of course isn’t fair because both the devices run different OSes and we still don’t have all the information about Apple’s new A6 processor. It’s no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S III is a great device (with a larger higher-res screen, more RAM), but the ad just seems a little on the childish side, where Samsung quite blatantly gives a one-sided picture, and claims that its smartphone is the next big thing.
Some Apple fan boys have already started tweaking the print ad. You can take a look at one of the tweaked ads shown by Business Insider here.
The ad seems to be a pretty bold move on Samsung’s part considering their recent defeat in court against Apple. What do you think of the ad? Let us know in the comments section below:
